Ireland - Bunratty

Bunratty is a folk park between Shannon and Limerick. For Visitors to Ireland entering the country through Shannon Airport, this is often one of their first stops.

Despite the fact that it is a commercial folk park it is a great place to visit with many examples of rural Irish life, a castle, shops and more.

Pearl Street

Pearl Street, a camera, and a free afternoon, can life get any better? These images were taken along Pearl Street and the Farmers' Market in Boulder, Colorado.

There are certain places I have found that are great for street photography - Charles Bridge in Prague, Harajuku in Tokyo, and then there is Pearl Street here in Colorado. Pearl is a converging point for all walks of life and culture, the rich and homeless, the tourist and the student, street performers and hustlers, and observers like me.

Rockledge Ranch

Rockledge Ranch is a city of Colorado Springs owned and operated recreation of the original ranch. During the summer volunteers dress in period costumes and take visitors around the facilities. It also has plays and performances during the summer.

There is access to the Garden of the Gods from Rockledge and is a nice addition to the park itself.

The town of Cashel was one of the many places we visited on a recent trip to Ireland. Most of the images in this gallery are of the Rock of Cashel or the castle in the town. Several others were taken around the town.

Cashel was one of our favorite towns mainly because of the food there and two restaurants in particular. Cafe Hans and Chez Hans were the best places we ate in Ireland which is saying a lot since Ireland had great restaurants and cafes. The owner of the B&B we stayed at pointed out that there were other good restaurants too. And, not to worry if one turns out bad he said, "There are three undertakers in town too."

Frozen Dead Guy Days, Nederland

These images are from the Frozen Dead Guy Days festival in Nederland, Colorado.

The Frozen Dead Guy Days is one of those uniquely Coloradan events. Perhaps it is the altitude or long winters but by this time every year everyone goes a bit crazy. Take a look at Carnivale in Manitou Springs to see another one of those special events here in the state.
